Technique Tuesday

We'll be making these cards at my Technique Tuesday class next week. One is done with a dryer sheet and Dazzling Diamonds. It is really sparkly in real life. The other is Faux Marble however I did use a retired Stampin' Up stamp set but it had that vintage look I was after. Been extra busy this weekend so I am sorry I have not posted for a while and hope to pick up the pace the rest of the week. Be sure and check out the new Stampin' Up Clearance Rack. It is a new OnLine only store featuring retired Stampin' Up products to be sold till they are gone and the best part, GREAT SAVINGS! Thanks for stopping by and keep those fingers inky! Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Chalk Challenge

This is for the Chalk Challenge at Late Night Stampers. It's called Chalk on Chalk. The base is black cardstock rubbed with chalk (green & purple) then using a blender pen I colored the moon & headstones with chalk. It's been a long time since I used the chalks for anything except cheeks so this brings them back out to try new ideas! I did spray the finished product with hair spray to set the chalk so it does not rub off. Just a quick Halloween card. It's hard to get a good angle so you can see the embossing. Thanks for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment! They are much appreciated. Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Skaters

Well we're off to NC for a Stampin' Up weekend! It should be lots of fun, exchanging ideas, playing with MDS, learning lots of new tips! Anyway wanted to make this quick card using the Movers and Shakers Die from SU. I have had it for over a week and not able to play with it! The skaters are from My Design Studio and I used chalk & SU markers to color them. Just a quick Note card with a punched SU snowflake! Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Santa Bear

Another bear! He is dressed in a felt suit and it is so cute. This was just a quick card to see what he looked like! I love those new dies. Anyway the felt cuts really well with the Big Shot. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Gretchen Barron's Challenge

This card was made for the Challenge on Gretchen Barron's Blog. It's a bit different but close enough. I wanted to use this set since I've had it a while and just found a great reason to use it. The paper is from the Mini Catalog - Christmas Cocoa specialty paper. It has a certain shimmer to it. I used Real Red and Soft Suede cardstock. The two side trees are on ONE dimensional but the middle one is on two doubled up for extra height. Hope you like it. Oh on the inside I stamped a flourish from the same set, Patterned Pines - Level I Hostess set from the Mini Catalog. Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Ornaments, Ornaments, Ornaments

I just love that punch. Funny, 'cause I was not going to order it but the FISH did it! Anyway I used the new Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP from the new Mini-Catalog! The ornaments are fuzzy since the white is fuzzy! I printed the stamp from MDS and backed it in Real Red CS. The ornaments are backed using Soft Suede and the Holiday Movers & Shakers dies in the mini. Notice the inside has a row of flourish done on the MDS as well. Loving that program! The ornament hangers are gold wire and all is attached with Dimensionals. Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Finally ... a bear to dress!

I ordered all the extras and forgot to order the bear a few weeks ago and finally I received the bear and just had to try something. This is a quick, cute Halloween bear! I used a toothpick for the sign using Teeny Wishes. I love that set. There is a greeting for any occasion and they all fit in the Window Word Punch! I tied hemp in his little shoes! The pumpkin was adhered using Dimensionals. Hope you like him. Please comment (good or bad) I love to hear them all. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Chipboard Top Note

I used a heavy cardboard to cut a top note so I could emboss only the edges of the paper. Sandwich: Multipurpose Platform, Stampin Up Embossing folder with cardstock inside, cardboard or chipboard stencil-cut on top of that then put one of the standard cutting pads on top. Run this thru the Big Shot. The cardboard causes the impression on the paper leaving the middle flat for stamping or embellishments. I used the Lovely As A Tree set and if you don't have one, you need to get it. It is a great classic stamp set. Anyway---I did add some touches of Diamond Dust in the trees and matted it on Handsome Hunter Green CS. You'll have to try this technique. Sorry I forgot the photo but it's here now! Until next time! Edging with Embossing Folders

I used the new Petals A Plenty Stampin Up Embossing folder to create this card. I only embossed the edges so the middle has NO embossing. You can emboss only the edges since your folders will fit thru the Big Shot lengthwise or sideways. The stamp set is a Hostess Level II set, Asian Art. After embossing I sponged a little color over the embossing to make it pop. Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

WOW Background Paper

How cool is this? The Brides DSP on Page 158 (Item# 115669) can be brayered ANY color you want and the shiny parts won't take the ink so you get a beautiful background paper! I used Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink and brayered the stripped paper and VOILA'... The flower is the Daisy #2 Big Shot die and I wanted to try the Lattice SU Big Shot die. The little leaves are also a Big Shot Sizzlit's embossing die from Stampin' Up. The Sympathy Stamp in unknown but 'we won't tell'! It's a fun technique to try and like I said you can use any color. The effect is gorgeous! Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Another Quick Post

Using the Light Scribe DVD burner and My Design Studio I made this DVD label. I used a pre-designed page from MDS but added the tree. Earlier I made my 'new-to-be grandson' an album using the Scrappin' Kit that matches this DVD. So now we can put pictures on this DVD or a movie or whatever and put it in the scrapbook and it will all match! I just love the endless possibilities using the MDS! Order yours TODAY... (of course from me - ONLINE) Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Autumn Splendor

Autumn Splendor is a new set in the holiday mini catalog (SU) and it is gorgeous. I love trees and leaves anyway but these are just special! I hope it stays around for a while. What a great background it would make which may be my next project. September has been a busy month and am going to an SU retreat in NC Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I hope it will be inspiring and refreshing! I used Razzleberry Lemonade DSP for the paper and Razzelberry CS/Ink for the rest, embossing the leaves in gold! The acorns and sentiment is attached with Dimensions. Gotta run for now and get ready for my Sunday Stamp Club meeting! Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Top Note Pumpkin

Using the SU Top Note Die, I cut 10 top notes, folded them in 1/2. Before I cut them I stamped both sides of the paper with the Thanksgiving roller (mini-catalog). The leaves are an SU die cut and the stem is the wide oval punch folded and trimmed off the top. If I make another one I may put 12 top notes for a little fuller look. It actually looks better IRL (I'm NOT a photographer)! Just a fun thing to make for your table. Oh I did trim the center point on the bottom so it sits flat. (Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Chocolate Chip CS) Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

My Digital Studio

All the buzz about the new Digital Studio is TRUE!!! It is a fantastic program and VERY EASY to use. These were my very first two cards which took about 3 minutes to make. I am going to try a scrapbook next. It is well worth the investment. There will be future downloads with SU embellishments, stamps, DSP, etc. There is even the old InColor papers for you to use again and again. I know these a simple, simple but if you need a card in a hurry and just think of all the time you'll save scrappin'. I think I am going to enjoy it designing without actually cutting cardstock! It is just FUN! Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Another My Design Studio Creation

Today I bought a new Lite Scribe DVD burner and lo and behold you can go into MDS and use the stamps, DSP’s etc and scribe on your DVD… how nice this would be to make an album with cd’s of pictures and use the DSP to scribe into the front of the CD! I hope you can see it on the photo. It's such a neat addition to a plain ole' CD or DVD. I just thought of something. If you can make movies, etc in MDS, this is a great idea! I plan to try some some stuff with them this weekend! This was DSP Brocade! Can't wait to play with this one too! Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Thoroughly Modern

Finally an ornament from the ornament punch! WOW what a concept! Today I made a tablet folder from one of the Thoroughly Modern File folders (will post later) and had a 2.5 strip left over so I punched the ornaments and used thin wire to make hangers! They are adhered using Dimensionals. Bermuda Bay CS is the base and Rose Red for the mats. It is really pretty IRL. Enjoy. Had a great bunch of ladies today doing our monthly Stamp A Stack and they all loved it! I won't post much, if any, this week. I have to work all week and it usually means 12 hours a day! and being semi-retired, that makes for a very long day! Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Another 'Ornament'

Making a vase was fun out of the ornament punch (SU's new punch in the mini-catalog). I did punch 3 and glued them together for a faux chipboard effect. It's on a dimensional as well. This was from an idea by Sharon Field (LNStampers). I used the Asian Artistry stamp, Perfect Plum CS and Pale Plum cardstock. My daughter told me yesterday we needed to use these colors since they have been neglected for a long time so this is for her! Enjoy! Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Fishy Kisses

Ornaments are no longer just for Christmas! These adorable fish were made using the new Stampin' Up Ornament Punch (mini-catalog item# 110794). I put the DSP on the thin sheet of cardboard that comes in the DSP packs and punched them. The fins are the wings from the tiny bird die (SU). Brayering the background, adding weeds using the Inspired by Nature stamp set, brads are the eyes and eyelets for bubbles completes this cute little note card. Oh BTW the fish are on Dimensionals! I have also seen a vase made from this punch too. Will try and get a sample up tonight. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Embossing

Another WOW technique introduced by Patty Bennett using your Big Shot and Stampin Up embossing folders. Rather than rebuild the wheel Patty has a tutorial on her blog (Click here). However, I did not have the wooden templates. I cut an oval from a really sturdy piece of acetate and it worked fine. I used Bravo Burgandy and Very Vanilla card stock. The mauve is not SU! (unknown) And I just noticed when I scanned the picture - I put the bird on the wrong side and the embossing is backwards but you get the idea! LOL I hope this inspires you to try different things but just have fun! Thanks for stopping by. Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Pirates - ARRRRR!

Pirates Beware (Item 115187) is featured on this Halloween card. I used Cast A Spell (Item 115667) Designer paper for the background and mats. The stamp is embossed in black embossing powder hanging by 2 Old Olive Brads. Very quick and easy card. Until next time! Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Cold (Cute) & Cuddly

This new stamp set was introduced in the Holiday Mini and it is so cute. Love the ice! The card base is Night of Navy. I brayered the sky and water portion. I added a little color to the ice to make it stand out and a huge snowflake (SU's snowflake punch) accents this picture and clear button finished it off. Great masculine card. Until next time!
