Sunflowers!

Well I fell in love with Patty Bennett's cute little sunflowers made from the Stampin' Up scallop punch and the center is the 1" punch. I did not have any brown poka-dot paper so I used my Cuttlebug and Dotted Swiss embossing folder. I brayered brown on the 'indented side' of the folder and embossed as usual using white paper so it looks like dots and it also makes it three-dimentional. What a cool flower! Thanks, Patty for sharing. To make the leaves FOLD your paper in 1/2 and then run thru your crimper at an angle and cut in a leaf shape! Now how great is that! I used Bare Banana & Chocolate Chip Cardstock and a scrap of an old discontinued paper for the printed piece! I hope you enjoy the card. The flowers are on pop-dots and I also found these vanilla cards while I was cleaning out my filing cabinet. They are an off size I guess I purchased a long time ago at Michaels. I sponged around the envelope flap. I am trying to clean out my craft room and use alot of the 'old' stuff I have had stashed away. Thanks for stopping by and until next time, Happy Stampin' and Scrappin' Nancy

Individual CD Holders

After clearing off some photos on my computer, I decided to made a CD for my DD with her 550 mgs. of photos I had scanned. So I made the Chocolate cover for her using the Cricut Design Studio to make the CD label and running it thru the Zyron machine. The other two covers are embellished on the inside similar to the brown one. I did not want to put 3D embellishments so it can be stored easily. I used Accent Essentials (Cricut cartridge - 4" flourish) for accent as well as the 'O' monogram. Now she has a copy of all her pictures thru a certain date! Oh you could also use the pre-cut cd labels and stamp on them. I am still trying to use up my discontinued Stampin' Up papers and I think my Chocolate is finally gone! But I loved that paper. Thought this would make a great gift for someone's special occasions, Christmas, birthday, vacation - etc. They were fun to make and use some of the CD mailers (I have a bunch)... New Hostess Set

Finally received my preview order from Stampin' Up. As a demo we can order 2 hostess sets. This is a Level 3 set that comes with Seasonal Icon Stamps (4), matching rub-ons and a package of Designer Paper. I made this card using those items and some of the new InColors. (Kiwi Kiss & Pink Pirquette and Baja Breeze) They are really pretty colors. Check them out on Stampin' Up's Website! This was a quick card and I used the FRIENDS stamp from one of the current Hostess sets. I dyed the ribbon using the Kiwi Kiss refills... just a few drops with water. I think I like dying the ribbon to match rather than trying to buy all the matching colors! Just an added note! I used the NEW Sock Monkey stamp (available August 11) and used Shrinky Dinks from Crafter's Alley and made this cute charm for a card or a scrapbook page. Sorry the picture is a little blurry but my camera was acting up. Remember colors on Shrinky Dinks show up darker AFTER they are baked! Until my next post, Happy Stampin' & Scrappin' Nancy

CD Mailer Gift

I made this for my son and his new bride. The CD has their Cancun pictures. I used a CD mailer and brayered the sky and water. I sponged the sand. But first I stamped the images and masked them off after embossing with SU Detail Black Embossing Powder. Last step was to color the images. I used SU classic ink and markers. I did sand the covers first since they have a slick surface but it made them just right for stamping. And yes, this is another method from Michelle Zindrof but my own design. I sure hope they like it. I will be having some classes on this technique this fall/winter. I think it just gives stamping a whole new meaning and a great challenge! Making these for all sorts of occasions would make a great gift. Thanks for stopping by and until next time, Happy Stampin' and Scrappin' Nancy

NO Birds on the Wire

Yes, another Zindorf creation! (check out her blog) This was her tutorial for today. Of course, I did not have the colors she used nor the bird stamp so mine has NO birds and I used Stampin' Up's Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery. I did use Old Olive the shadow the trees. This card fits a standard biz envelope (4 1/4 x 9 1/2) The extra I cut off was mounted inside and I added a little tree to the envelope to make it match. I so love this brayering technique and I will keep practicing. There are some gorgeous things you can make using this technique. Until my next post, Happy Stampin' and Scrappin' Nancy

The CD mailers will be available at My Etsy Store next week or email me. I used Sage Shadow, Really Rust with Night of Navy cardstock and a retired Camper Scrappin' Kit... This item is for sale at MY ETSY STORE. Until my next post, Happy Scrappin' and Stampin' Nancy

Embossed Flower Card

So Saffron, More Mustard & Chocolate Chip was used to create this card. I used the cuttlebug to emboss both edges then manually lined the middle for definition. I used So Saffron & More Mustard ink to sponge the edges around the flower. The flower was stamped first then colored with Stampin' Up markers, then embossed with clear embossing powder. Brads are attached and since I don't have a corner ticket punch, I used the 1/2 inch circle punch for the corners. I hope you like it. New techniques are always fun to try! Thanks for looking. Until my next post, Happy Stampin' & Scrappin'

Sunset Scene

This another take off from Michelle Zindorf's brayer technique (check out her blog for more details on this gorgeous technique) I did however use Hunter Green and Always Artichoke for the bottom of the card and then stamped the pine tree from Lovely as a Tree Stampin' Up stampset. I just have fallen in love with this technique and you can do so many things. PS I posted another post on my blog this morning and it seems not to have come thru so you may want to check out My Blogto see the Card box and cards I posted. Enjoy! and until my next post... Gift Box of 4 Cards

I made this sometime ago but finished it up yesterday. The little box holds four cards (4 1/4x5 1/2) and envelopes. I intentionally did not put greetings on the cards so they can be used for any occasion. Close to Cocoa & pink Stampin Up cardstock was used for the cards and box. Bohemia by My Mind's Eye was the printed paper (Michael's); brads are Stampin' Up. I thought it would make a great gift or something for yourself when you need a quick card. Each card is decorated a little differently but all have a bow made from Stampin' Up's Close to Cocoa ribbon. Cute and inexpensive gift; quick to make and a great way to use any designer paper you may have left over. It took 1.5 sheets of 12x12 printed paper. Thanks for stopping by and come back soon. Another Zindrof Knockoff!

I keep practicing Michelle Zindrof's brayer technique. She does some gorgeous work and it looks more like a painting than a greeting card. Visit her blog for instructions and it does take some practice. I have found you don't use much pressure and it goes alot better. I have been trying to clean up my scrap room and organize my papers and boy is that ever a chore. It will take months! LOL The new catalog for Stampin' Up will be out soon and with lots of new stuff so I need to get organized so I can play! I do try and make something new every day though. Please come and visit again soon and thanks for stopping by. Happy Stampin' and Scrappin' Nancy

Cherry-O!

I love this stamp set (Tart & Tangy) and the matching designer paper. It is so happy and cheerful! I used Real Red Cardstock and cut a scalloped rectangle in Old Olive using the Spellbinders die cuts. A strip of Real Red Ribbon like a belly band was just an added touch. I embossed using Swiss Dots embossing folder w/ my Cuttlebug and made a matching envelope. The cherries were stamped, highlighted with markers, embossed then cut out and are adhered with a pop dot. What a great note card anyone would be proud to send or receive! Thanks for stopping by and come back soon Until my next post, Happy Stampin' and Scrappin' Nancy

Explosion of Memories

I know these have been around for a while but that are so cute. I love the idea of opening a box and it 'exploding' with photos of a memorable occasion. Closed, it is 4x4x4 and I used Stampin' Up certainly celery and turquoise as the main colors. Pages are embellished with complimentary colors. Great gift for a teacher, friend or just for your use. It holds up to 24 photos as well as having plenty of room for journaling! The last picture actually shows what each layer looks like before gluing together. This item is available on MY ETSY STORE. Tea Bag Holder

These are so cute! Great little remembrance gift! and a great way to use your designer paper scraps! I saw this on Inking Addict's Blog and just had to try it. What a good teacher's gift? I used Flowers for You and Jersey Stampin Up designer papers for my creations. She gives complete and accurate instructions for you to follow and lots of other good stuff. Instead of two tea bags you can put a small tabbed note in the other pocket. Thanks for stopping by and come back often. Happy Stampin' & Scrappin' Nancy

Box - Bag!

I saw this on Inking Addict's Blog and had to try it. I did however use the Cuttlebug embossing folder to add the Swiss Dots. These little bags are so cute and are a really great way to use your leftover and/or discontinued Designer Paper. I used the one from Christmas! so I'm either awfully early or really late. I am going to try and work out a pattern to make it a little bigger so will keep you posted. These are fun and easy to make so please check out her Blog and try some. She also has some really cute tutorials. Thanks for looking and stopping by. Happy Scrappin' and Stampin' Nancy

Chickadee Bird - Zindorf Technique

Yet another try on the Zindorf technique. I am really having some fun with these. The directions are on her blog, Michelle Zindorf. She has a fantastic Tutorial Section and rather than reinvent the wheel, I followed her directions except I did not have Soft Sky so I used Bliss Blue. I have made some other things this week and will post all along but I really have been trying to perfect her technique. It is gorgeous! I have also been trying to make matching envelopes and adding something extra inside the card. It is a good habit to start! Thanks for stopping by and looking. Happy Scrappin' & Stampin' Nancy

Mini-Pizza Box Gift Cards

As you can see I am still trying to use the Stampin' Up discontinued stuff. This paper is from 2004, Polka-Dot Scrappin' Kit. For box directions CLICK HERE. I first saw the box on Diana Soling's blog. I made 4 matching gift cards especially for birthday presents. This little box would make a nice remembrance gift or for your own use. The notes are 3.5 x 3.5 as the finished mini-pizza box is 4x4. Have fun and it is a good way to use your SCRAPS! Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stampin' and Scrappin' Nancy

Embrace Life

This is a brayer technique I have been practicing. Michelle Zindrof (the Brayer Queen) has done some gorgeous cards using a brayer. You will have to check out her blog on Splitcoast Stampers. Mine pales after you see her work. She also has lots of great tutorials! I used a Not Quite Navy card and the front is brayered on Whisper White cardstock. I used Embrace Life stamp set for the words and leaves. Made a matching envelope! Just having fun and trying new stuff is the way to go! Have Fun... Happy Stampin' and Scrappin' Nancy

Note Card

I am sorry I have not 'blogged' in a while. Things have been pretty busy for me but I am on the right track now so hopefully you will hear from me more often. This card was made by stamping Stem Silhouettes in Old Olive and Brocade Blue then I sponged over top and added a few white gel pen highlights. The verse is from Touch of Nature and the fern on the envelope as well. I was just messing around and wanted to do something different. I hope you like it. The corners are made by joining together the photo corner punch from Stampin' Up. Faux stitching was done with the white gel pen. I am trying to make a matching envie with each card so it will become a habit! Hope your 4th was GREAT! I had a quiet day just resting! Thanks for stopping by... Happy Stampin & Scrappin Nancy
