Whimsey Background
Another great technique from Technique Junkies! Background Whimsey - I put a new twist on it by using a pre-printed paper. This paper just screamed WHITE GEL PEN! The true technique used a detailed background stamp, brayer, sponge or color it then outline the images with white gel pen. Well since I must admit I don't have a detailed background stamp, I did the next best thing.
When I get a BG stamp I will do the 'right' way and let you see the result. In the meantime, here is my take on this great technique. If you have not checked out Technique Junkies, please go over and visit the website and JOIN in the fun.
Until next time!

Here's the Scoop!
Here’s the Scoop was printed using MDS & SU Fonts. This would make a Great set of Note Cards!
Scoops are 1 ¾ circle with scallop edge on the bottom; brushed silver paper for the bowl and brushed gold for the spoon. The spoon is a 3/4" circle, the handle a trimmed modern label punch. Cherry is 3/4" circle and re-punched stem.
The bowl's stem is the tab punch & the scallop oval frame for decoration on a punched oval.
I think I might add some Dazzling Diamonds for sparkle! Anyway WELL the design on top is a (Martha Stewart)… I know, I know not SU but... I love the loop punch BUT in SU’s punch defense, they punch cardstock a lot better than MS! I used the woodgrain stuff across the bottom.
Until next time!

Busy, Busy today!
These are all created using die cuts from Creative Cuts and More. For unusual cuts, check 'em out.
I made this cute little box and filled it with chocolates (everyone needs more chocolate)! I scored it every 1/2 inch to give it some texture. Of course the little birdie is from Stampin' Up's Two Step Bird Punch.
The card used the Technique Junkies Newsletter (this month) Antique Wall Paper. The card is also a cut from Creative Cuts. Stamps are Elements of Style (120045) and Well Scripted (118601). I just lightly tapped the flowers with color using a dauber. Don't you just love daubers!
Last but not least is the hat die cut! Of course, I had to make a Red Hat thingee so why not a refrigerator magnet with a calendar! You can make a card either, I just thought a magnet would be different for today. I ran it thru the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Stampin' Up embossing folder.
Until next time!

Fixed - thanks to Blogs by Heather!
Heather with blogsbyheather.com fixed my blog for me! She is such a sweetie and soooo helpful. Be sure and let her know if you need help!
Yesterday I was asked to join Technique Junkies Design Team. If you are unfamiliar with the website go by and check it out. If you really enjoy doing different techniques on your cards, scrapbook pages & paper projects, this is the place. I was so honored and hopefully can live up to their expectations. Feels so good to be associated with such great names in the paper craft world! Come on over and join in!
Well now down to 'other' business! Tomorrow is Challenge 128 with Stamp-A-Holics! Here's my contribution. It took about 20 minutes to make so I did not make the 10 minute challenge but it's all in fun! and sometimes it just doesn't work out!
I used the new Greenhouse Gala Designer Paper, Leaves Sizzlit Die cut, Table Setting Die. The ribbon is 1/4" Pumpkin Pie and the new 1/8" Chocolate Chip coming July 1. Only six more days and a wake up till we can purchase from the 2010-2011 Stampin' Up Catalog! The little flower was made by rolling the spiral that is on the Table Setting Die and then I smooshed it and sprayed with Smooch Spritz (vanilla) which gives it a little glimmer.
The envelope was lined with matching paper. I have started making matching envelopes and it is so cool. I also have enjoyed using the cello envelopes to mail my cards. The P.O. people really enjoy looking at them!
Check out Carole' Anne's blog to get the other challenges and PLAY ALONG. This sketch was provided by the very talented Debbie Pike. Great sketch, Debbie!
Until next time!

Wednesday's Punch Blog Hop
Drum roll PLEASE for the first Kim Score PUNCHIE Blog Hop! I love punches and there are so many talented and creative ladies to inspire you along the way.
I posted this page of my darling grandson with a punchie dragon. Punches add so much to your creations. (By the way there is a dragon in the bottom of his little pool.) If you'd like to check out more punchie ideas, look under my LABEL - Punches or Big Shot - you will find lots of samples & inspiration.
Blogs included in today's Blog Hop are listed below! Be sure and visit them all for a 'punchie' good time! I guarantee you will pull out all your punches and start punching.
TIP: It is a great way to use all those little scraps. If your cardstock is too small to hold, stick the edge to a Post-A-Note and you can hold on to it so you can punch!
Until next time!

Redhat Lady
This was originally made by Alene Humphrey and featured on Ellen Kemper's Blog. There were no directions so I had to wing it but it turned out nice too. I made it for a friend of mine, Kathy, who is my RedHat Lady friend. Alene's was fancier than mine so I assumed her RedHatter was going to a fancier event! But ain't she cute?
Until next time!

Punch Art Blog Hop - Wednesday
Kim Score is sponsoring a Punch Art Blog Hop tomorrow - Wednesday! Be sure and come back and see all the great punchies everyone is going to contribute. I found this little bear in my list of files and wanted to share. NOW mind you, it was not my original idea, I just embellished on it and he is not on a card but I do plan on using him alot since my 'boys' are bear hunters! as well as their friends and families! I can't remember the original gal and if she sees this and emails me I will link it to her creation.
BE SURE TO COME BACK TOMORROW for a complete list of participating blogs! You won't be disappointed.
Until next time!

6 x 6 One Sheet Wonder
Thanks to the very talented Sharon Field who introduced me to this fabulous ONE SHEET WONDER - believe it or not a 6 x 6 sheet of Designer Paper or 6 x 6 sheet you have stamped can become 5, yes I said five, very versatile cards! These are the ones I created using the new Designer Paper Greenhouse Gala available July 1!
Sharon has a very detailed tutorial on her blog. She used a 6 x 6 sheet that was stamped rather than DSP. They are gorgeous!
I purposefully left the sentiments blank so the creator could use any sentiment she might need! What a great way to create a card stash!
Until next time!

This is a total case and inspired by Carole' Anne - check it out - using Studio Sketches and the Newsprint DSP from Stampin' Up! (Sneak Peek). I just feel in love with her collage card.
I also got to use the new colors - Pear Pizzaz, Cherry Cobbler and Express! They are just gorgeous. Can't wait for the new catty so we can order lots of new stuff! I did make a matching envelope and also embossed the ribbon after coloring it with the Pear Pizzaz marker. I hope you love it as much as I do.
Until next time!

Thank You Cards
All Occasion - REALLY
I made this card using the Challenge colors from Mitzi Luttrull's 10-minute challenge for the Design Team at Carole' Anne's blog. Hop over and check out everyone's entries.
The colors were Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Green Galore & Ballet Blue. I made the Yellow Finch using the Stampin' Up bird punch. I even used some left over glossy paper for the 'whisper white'. It actually gave the card some real sheen.
NOW here's the real beauty: You can use this card for ANY occasion! I used the Wonderful Favorites Stamp Set (115114 - hint: NOT-retiring)! When I need a card I have over 15 words to choose from and I can punch it out using the Word Window Punch.
So actually it is really an 'all occasion' card. Would LOVE to hear your comments, please leave one. Thank you.
Until next time!

Stamp A Holics Challenge 127
I posted this yesterday but evidently it did not 'register', it's in cyberspace!
This week's 10 min. Color Challenge is brought to you by Mitzi Luttrell! She has presented with a great combination of Crushed Curry, Ballet Blue, Green Galore and Whisper White. My card too approximately 15 minutes (went a little over) Don't tell!
I used Ballet Blue as a base with Green Galore as my first mat. The Crushed Curry is part of the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper. All these colors are retiring July 1 and I sure will miss them.
Iused the new stamp sets In A Word (120057) and Fast and Fabulous (120133). Punches included the Pinking Heart Edge punch and the Scalloped oval and the bigger scalloped oval was made using the Movers & Shapers Oval. I did spritz the flower and sentiment with Smooch Spritz. It adds just the right amount of sparkle.
Thanks, Mitzi, for such a beautiful challenge. Check back Friday for all the Design Team posts on Carole' Anne's Blog.
Until next time!

Motorcycle
Monica Weaver inspired me to make this motorcycle card. It's very masculine and I love the metal and the way it embosses so well using the Stampin' Up Embossing plates and Big Shot. It's very simple and quick and makes a great masculine card for birthday, father's day, note, get well - well just any occasion. Thanks for stopping by. I am in the process of coming up with my Stamp A Stack cards and have one more to go! Yea!
Until next time!

Sneak Peek
Made this card using the new Early Expresso card stock accented with the new Cherry Cobbler scalloped Sizzlit square! It's a bit darker than I planned. I also sprayed it with the Smooch Spritz and it just glimmers in real life!
Alot of us demos have spent time on re-arranging paper, ink, etc. in anticipation of the new colors July 1. I won't be doing much next week so 'miss me'. I have to work all week which is rare since I retired! so I doubt I'll have time to do much stamping! BUT will be back!
Until next time!

Stamp A Holics Challenge 126
Marisol Gutierrez presented this scrapbook challenge for today (20 minute). What a great sketch!
This 12 x 12 page is done in Bashful Blue and Cameo Coral with accents of Night of Navy. The big star at the bottom has a bow on it and opens with the journaling for the page. At the top the small stars say A STAR is born! You can't really see it on the scan. I also took my brayer and wrapped it in Magic Mesh and rolled it over the page for some additional color on the page.
This page took about 20 minutes to make! Of course the subject is my favorite (my new grandson)! Please go by Carole Anne's Blog to check out at the other Design Team posts!
What a busy week, I have been MIA catching up. I have to work all next week (first time in years) and with classes and all the new changes & 'life' I just can't seem to get out from under!
Until next time!

Wedding Gift!
This gift is for our friend's daughter getting married, of course, this month! The box houses the Recipes by Design (perfect fit). I sprayed the front panel on the box with the new Smooch Spritz and it really makes it pop. I sure hope they like it! Oh, the box was stamped with the French Filigree Backgound stamp and Stazon. The 5/8" Black Satin ribbon just sets it off. The Recipes by Design will be gone after June 30 and it really makes a great gift!
Until next time!

Fun in the Sun
Yep you guessed it - my handsome grandson again! I made this using SU paper for Jacob's first trip to a 'big' pool. Just wanted to share this page. I made the beads on the rope for an embellishment. I hope he appreciates all this when he grows up LOL. Thanks for stopping by.
I have class tomorrow so am posting twice today and I have to go order some new Stampin' Up products to get a jump on July's classes! Isn't a new catalog exciting?
Until next time!

Camping!
My dear friend recently purchased a new camper so I made them this little 'camper warming' gift. The bag contains graham crackers, marshmallows & chocolate bar. I hope they enjoy their S'mores! They are out of town so she won't see this post. Yep you guessed it, trying out that new 'toy'.
I just love the combination embossing folders - makes the perfect graham cracker! (no calories)
Until next time!

Stamp A Holics Challenge 125
Well ladies it was my week to pick the inspirational challenge. I choose this picture for the vibrant colors and such spring/summer like feel.
I came up with this card which took about 15 minutes (we won't tell anyone it was over 10)... I used Pink Pirouette for a base and Cottage wall for the mat. French Filigree is the background stamped in Pretty in Pink and dabbed with Silver Shimmer paint.
The little butterflies are cut from the Sizzlit Beautiful Wings in Certainly Celery, So Saffron & Pretty in Pink varied on the card. The little glitz is from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit. I used the frame from the Vanilla HodgePodge Kit over the stamped Happy Birthday. The Scallop Trim Corner Punch and Scallop Trim Edge Punch complete center square.
I think it all came together nicely and it's such a happy-colored card. Please be sure to by Carole' Anne's Blog and check out the other entries. Better yet, play along!
Comments are welcomed and would love to hear your opinion! Thanks for stopping by. This is for the Friday AM challenge but I posted today since I have to work tomorrow and won't have time. (Work, Yuk!)
Until next time!

Cheers to you!
After 3 hours of trying to post this... this will be short. My internet (dependable NTELOS)... has been up and down so I hope this one goes thru.
This card is a take off of one Ellen Kemper posted the other day. She's my PUNCH QUEEN... I just can't get over the cute punches she comes up with and what great cards they make. I love them all.
I changed colors but it is basically the same and ain't she cute! What a use for the butterfly punch! C-H-E-E-R-S to you!
You may have noticed that lots of the punches are listed as retiring BUT it's not as bad as it looks. They will be reworked as in the new style but SU will be keeping the majority of punches they have now. More on this later.
Until next time!
